Well was a slog , 3hrs for a jack pike . Had to rerig twice with numb fingers and wrong glasses but was a beautiful morning to be out..

I'm out with lures Saturday with a mate, there's a trophy on the line as he bought himself one last time we went as he caught a decent perch lol. Gonna be gloved up and fishing hard no quarters given....

I’m out with a few mates on Sunday on the river . They are taking ultralight gear hoping for perch but I’m out and out pike fishing so taking a bigger outfit this time

Gonna start off with this,hoping the curly tails come through , also heard if you hit a little weed a lot of plain lures stop moving but got a chance with these the tail will still flap a bit, put a quick link on trace so can swap about a bit...

Well both blanked, not a bite and the other anglers we met on travels the same , so don't think weather was on side, will be trying the levels next time, still good to have some fresh air and a catch-up with a mate.

We all blanked aswell and never had a touch . I had one lazy follow but it wasn’t interested in taking though . 
Saw someone on the opposite side get one on a lively just as we were coming off but didn’t see any other pikers catch

I'll take solace in that, hoping the slightly milder temps will provide on Tuesday...

This winters been rubbish .  I’ve blanked 5 out of 9 times now on lures and livebaits , don’t think I’ve had that many blanks in the last 5 years combined .

Ended with three jacks the above being the biggest. Saw a bit more of the levels , might have a crack at the canal tomorrow...
