Last season we was flighting some ducks, the farmer said the corn for the ducks was getting hammered by mandarins, I could not believe it, the sky was filled with them over 100 easy, they dropped in like lighting, totally wild they was.

Thanks for that. Was thinking they must be getting wind as these were well switch on and nervous.

I know,I have eaten both,I said there’s loads of wood duck here,I see them daily,I put the pic up as an illustration,every swamp/marsh/lake here has them,saw loads of broods swimming about earlier in the year,oddly enough the only place I ever saw mandarin duck in China was in Kowloon park.
