A situation has arisen for me at work were the company wants to take everyone's photo to put on their website to show the different teams that work for the company. A photographer turned up recently with tripod and cameras I asked him what he was doing the reply was taking everyone's photo for the website I told him abruptly he was not taking mine he looked shocked and soon packed his gear away . Was I in my rights. A reason I would not want it on is that I have been outspoken in the past about immigration and the Pakistani grooming gangs and my support for the late great Marlene Guest of Rotherham who was the one who started the ball rolling in getting the victims heard. The looney left in Rotherham would soon be hassling the company if they saw me on their website lol

Yes you are absolutely within your rights. You don't need to explain it to anyone either. Doubt the company will even push the matter

I think they just took it for granted everyone would comply. I seems to be since the new HR assistant started some of the ideas she is coming out with are laughable wanting employees to send her their bios about their hobbies and other interests and talents. I was dieing to send her one saying I love shooting squirrels and other stuff with my catapult. Lol

Seems a common sense reaction. Nothing in your contract to allow them to take your photo and stick it on the Web.

They probably want to add words coming out of your mouth like. " I love working in this team. There's great camaraderie. I'm passionate about my work.zzzzzzzzz"

When the opposite is true.

I have only met her once and she was well aware of who I was obviously being told about me from other members of management and told more than likely to swerve me though tbh she seemed a nice lass and full of enthusiasm like most new starters.

We've had the same but had to sign a consent form where about 80% of the non office based jobs didn't sign so then they got our bosses to come round to try add a little pressure to be told to feck off. We've had meetings and training where they've tried and the room as threatened to walk out if they took any pics nothin can do about it

These kids come in all bright and bushy tailed and expect everybody to be the same. They don't know anything about family worries and money worries and how people feel undervalued, underpaid and f****n knackered after a lifetime of graft. I found them a real pain in the arse.

I hate it when employees get checked up on all the time. I refuse to comment when I get phone calls asking me to rate my experience of an employee who has been doing work in my house. Give people some dignity ffs.

I am on a first aid course Monday at an hotel in Rotherham it's a course I want to do for myself due to the wife having an heart attack at Christmas and have already told them don't expect me to pose for any photos with my certificate for the company website.

There's no need to be confrontational. Just state I prefer not to have  my photo taken for personal reasons.

I say that because I used to mull on things like this at work and get worked up and sound aggressive. It was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. I learned I was better off just being pleasant but assertive. ( But I did want to put my fist down the back of their throats..time for my medication.) Lol

I am more or less the same though it doesn't help when you work with people who would stand in a bucket of shit if they were told to.
