Kay 3,709
Lo @ Jules Can i hijack this thread a bit. I have an all night leccy blanket. Steve was in bed, blanket was on, went to climb in and when we touched there was a vibration when our skins touched (God this sounds bad but i am serious, and dont know any other way to describe it ) I switched the blanket off and it stopped. Is it safe to use this blanket, if not who do you get to repair it? Moll. sounds like it might be worth keeping it moll Moll where was the blanket from i wouldnt mind one that vibrates seriously the fire brigade do a testing thing every now & then, ring the local ones up & ask them
Malt 379
Im only laughing because I did the same thing a few years ago! Like coney catcher99 says - its cheaper to buy a new light The snag for me was I had to pay an electrician to come and fit it since Im BANNED from all things electrical!! Long story, to cut it short - I mowed through the wire on my lawn mower and picked the wires up holding the join in one hand and continued til my neighbour came running over to stop me! Oh, then there was the time I watered the spider plant above the TV and the TV went up in smoke , then the christmas tree lights I just shoved the wires into a plug that was already there, I could go on and on. Im lucky to be alive to be honest. I did a simmilar thing once but the mower made a banging noise & a man across the road came running over when he heard me squeel i felt a right dick i did My god! I'm always on at the wife to have a go at the lawn, just now and again, maybe once a year or so! I don't think I'll bother now!

Last year I fell asleep on the sofa with the electic fire on, woke up to a burning smell and the downstairs lights off. Called up the fire guys and no less then TWELVE of them turned up There I was, hair all a-mess, in my scruffy trackies, surrounded by hot firemen. Imgine my dismay. The plug on the fire was buggered, no real harm done. But damnit, my one moment to catch a burly fireman and I blew it. I have since considered arson in order to get them all back out Edited January 28, 2008 by lurchergrrl

lurchergrrl 1,441
no ofence but women you should leave the diy to the fellas Oh aye? I'm better at diy than most blokes I know (except when I'm breaking glass that is). Because I pay attention to detail, follow directions and take my time about it. Come to think of it, if more blokes had those qualities there'd likely be a much lower divorce rate My exOH is rubbish at diy - and most other things as well ..... :wankerzo4:
