Sandwell Field sports HW77

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Having been a springer guy for most of my shooting life, I decided yesterday to push the boat out and drop some money on a new rifle. I went for a SFS tuned HW77 in 177, from 1993 - sitting in a Warren Edwards thumbhole walnut stock. Can't wait to get down to the club next week and put her through her paces! All in all not a bad weekend.

Atb,

Mark

@JakeFuryyou got me wondering so I spoke with Sheila Edwards and sent some pics. She confirmed that it is one of their earlier stocks. I've replied asking what year.

Thats good news mate indeed.

I have to say why I asked. I have a Sheffield stock and the area around the trigger and thumb hole are near exact to the eye (with my gun in the cab) my stock wraps a 97 though

Hi Mark,

I also own an early MK2 HW77 long, .177 cal`.

She also carries a Sandwell Field Sports stage 2 tune and is simply pure silk to shoot.

        She's a 25mm cylinder, 1986 confirmed by HW.

        I use JSB Exact Express 4.52, 7.87g, 817 ft/sec`, 11.67ft/lbs and deadly accurate.

Nice one Mark.

What year did the cylinder size change, do you have any idea?

I'll get to shoot it for the first time tomorrow night, so very optimistic indeed!

Marks 77 is a classy old girl

The stock is finished in a matt look

And the blueing is spot on

The stage2 tune is second to none

She is like silk to shoot with next to no recoil

Jon jon owned it off here

Now mark owns it but one day it will be back in my cabinet

Where it belongs

Atvbjimmy ???

Hi Jimmy old pal. How have you been??

You never change mate. You buy a stunningly beautiful looking air rifle. It's the cat's whiskers on performance.

Next thing..... you sell it!

Then regret it. You never change!

But then again, I sold my HW97K .22 plus a brilliant Hawke Endurance scope to Mark. And I really regret doing it. But hopefully Mark is still getting the spirt that rifle deserves.

It's been ages since I had my beloved HW77 .22 out. My Pro Sport is getting the pest control on my permissions. But I miss my days and nights out with my HW77.

Still one of the greatest spring rifles of all time in my experience and a treasure I will never part with. Ever. I have 20 years of great memories invested now in my old girl. I promise myself I will make more with her in the new year.

Guard her well Mrk. Yours is one very beautiful specimen HW77 and a gorgeous stock like that is a joy itself.

Jimmy our love and best regards to you and Nicola from Helen and me.xx

Good shooting to one and all here.

Simon the Pianoman.

Here's some of the pest control your old HW97K .177 is doing Simon, not wanting to rub it in like " honest " x:laugh:

She gets a lot of field time Simon.  ( p.s. great to see you around again buddy )

I love this 97and the endurance scope. Please allow admin`
