1. Does the Wattage of a bulb denote its potential Heat creation?

2. Assuming so; Where may I source higher wattage (100W?) Blue bulbs, please?

Tried Amazon. Best they seem to have is 25W ones which many reviews say just 'blow' in short order anyway ?

@antg I'd grab a case, if they were, mate. Sadly, it actually states" The heat generated by the bulb is minimal. " I need a heat producing bulb. Heat the whole place. NOT a Spot / Basking lamp.

Damn! Dan; Same thing still seems to apply :( Fukking EU!!!!!

How old are you KD? The last person to use a light source as a heat source in a vivarium was Noah in the ark....

Was in a shop, getting a creature, the other day. Girl in there, meaning to be helpful, asked me if I did know to give these fukkas extra vitamins ...?

I didn't have the heart to tell her; " Sweetheart; I was keeping this shit back around when your fukking Grandparents were born! "

Yeah, must admit though, things have come on, since my hey day. And everything's just a 'Click' away, for these youngsters.

Just bought myself an Arcadia 'Deep Heat Lamp', is it? New thing, looks of it. Supersedes Ceramic's. And they're mostly chink death traps, today anyway. 'Cheap, nasty' and 'electrics' are never terms I'd like to consider. Especially when creatures are involved.

Sadly, I've been in this game long enough to have actually come home to a blown, aquatic, thermostat :( Fukking haunts me, that does.

Have to replace the whole lid of this tank now, looks of it. Wasn't built for this purpose, see? No matter. Now I can genuinely 'Build Back Better'! :D Custom job, see?

Stuff of Life, all this! :boogy:
