Rolfe 2
Well that captured your attention. Just came across this USA made very large mole trap.....made by Nash Inc. USA. It is a brute of a thing and just wondered if anyone had seen its like before? I would imagine, but it is only a guess, that it was designed for gophers. Any further information on the trap would be most welcome. Rolfey. Quote Link to post

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Weird things aren't they? Most of us are thrown by them and thoughts of excavating a small grave to set one in. While, in fact, ye just supposed to drive a spade through the earth, to make slots for those massive loops. Rest of the trap sits up top . I haven't handled one in some time now so don't honestly remember exactly how they work. Seems they do though. Quote Link to post

They work the same in principle as the Talpex Ditch.......IE....triggered by upward pressure to the dog/ tongue Rolfe Quote Link to post

OldTrapCollector 377
It looks pretty hefty to me............old moley wouldn't know what hit him. I have a feeling that the US moles are slightly larger than our own There are actually about half a dozen variations of the Nash mole trap, the early ones have cast iron bases on them, some were painted green. It has been around for a fair while so must work, or it would have disappeared into obscurity by now. OTC Quote Link to post

mole trapper 1,703
Not as heavy as this one, but not dissimular in appearance to the Fenn "Loop" type one that was brought out back in the mid eighties if my mind serves me correctly. Quote Link to post
snareman 3
Hi Rolfe, i've got one in my collection, i cant find a mole big enough to try it out though. all american mole traps seem to be made like this for overkill , an elephant and forty troopers would be needed to carry half a dozen of these monstrosities , but there is one thing the americans can,t catch moles as good as our lads , and thats fact. Not dissimilar in appearence? Good point, MT. But, f*ck me; About 1/16th of the size! Quote Link to post
