vfr400boy 3,669 Posted April 27, 2022 Report Share Posted April 27, 2022 My kid brother is going though a rough patch ( long story) any way he gets very cheep diesel from work , and his oil tank at home is half full could you run a boiler on half heating oil and half diesel iv had a googel and says it burns at same temperature etc ? Greyman 32,564 Posted April 28, 2022 Report Share Posted April 28, 2022 I have diesel central heating as do many boats, heating fuel burns cleaner than diesel so as said if he uses it for a longer period he may have to run a cleaner through it from time to time, if diesel heating plays up it’s not uncommon to run kerosene through it to clean it all out, so my advice would be short term yes but if he’s doing it regular it may lead to problems with blockages etc 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
