Both came into a pheasant feeder , took one the other jumped up on a pile of old stick and started squawking at it’s lost mate so he got it too , we’ll it was rude not too !

Yes between those the jays and the squirrels sometimes looks like we’re fighting a loosing a battle but seeing how many song birds are now in the wood compared to a year ago when we first started the tables maybe turning , 102 squirrels from July last year shooting a few hours a week

Yerr, never seen so many jays. The endangered woodland birds will need protection.

The damn things are so twitchy though slightest movement and they’re gone

You can’t stalk them, other than opportunities to take them with a shotgun the only real chance is if they come to you, like on a feeder when you’re in a hide. I once got three for three shots with my 20 gauge semi auto, happened on five of them, two adults and three juveniles. Didn’t see the other two again.

Got a maggie on Sunday afternoon along with 14 feral pigeon but the maggie gave me greater satisfaction I must confess.
