Interesting little fact mate the shape of a birds eyes seems to dictate nocturnal activity the robin has round eyes and will sing all night long, the blackbird has slightly less but still round eyes and is the next to join the dawn chorus, the rounder the eyes the more nocturnal seems to be the norm, don’t know if there is any science in that but it seems to be true

Nightingale, of course, has saucers for eyes, bulging out like it's just beaked down a tablespoon of Amph'!

Saw a Robin roosting just before Christmas, only waist height in a little hedge in a car park. He was certainly pulled in tight, couldn't see his head at all

I always get them following me in gardens when I'm digging  surprising how close they come when I start one of my favourite birds the robin

I always throw them the worms when I'm digging...and let them in my bait tubs when fishing

I do the same and if it's hard will chuck a small bag of mealworms in my pocket to leave when I go .
