Well if you like strong flavoured meat you can hang it for a week . But I dont bother as it tastes gamey enough freshly killed.Usually gut and pluck it on the day and cook next day.I t really is a nice tasting bird. :thumbs:

 

 

Yep, I do the same. I hang mine overnight, then skin and gut them, into the oven or freezer :drink:

Ive hung mine from 5 days to 2 weeks, Sometimes if im out with my gun ill shoot one there and them and breast and leg it and take the meat home as it is then.

 

I guess i like my Pheasnts and any feathered game hung for as long as possible preferably,,

Gotta depend on couple of things really.

How cold it is where you hang them and how you like it to taste!

We dont get cold enough weather to hang for long and I guess not many have a walk in cold room?

Have hung for 10 - 12 days when used to be very cold outside then the taste is real strong.

Weather we get now max 5 days or its off!

 

 

My great uncle used to hang them in an outbuilding til they dropped of the hook!!

They were green and bloody discusting but he like em!
