whats the opinion on the browning rifles,223 ..

Recommended Posts

A mate of mine has one in .243 laminate stock and it’s a lovely rifle to shoot, when I bought my last .243 I was going to buy an x-bolt, but two things put me off, first was it had a 4 shot mag that didn’t seem to fit well and for some reason you could only put 3 rounds in it and secondly the weight, it was noticeably heavier that the tikka t3x ( and 200 quid more )

That’s quite expensive for the tikka, when I was looking for a new .243 the x-bolt was more than the tikka, one thing that’s very nice on the x-bolt is the standard synthetic stock, it’s got a soft feel to it, almost like a PU coating

Only the t-bolts have nice shiney gold triggers, I looked at the stainless, x-bolt but was heavy so got the ab3 synthetic stock, replaced the sear spring and the trigger is a lot lighter but still plastic, wish I'd gone for the x-bolt now, was only £300 more. I do like browning barrels, made in Japan but accuracy I've never seen the like of.

Edits, I only have it in 308win though. No use here for a 223

The ab3 states 4 shot, but my mag holds 5 an one up the spout so it's a 6 shot ?
