I'm doing them separate, 2 deep, once stitched together the reinforced edges act like a line, saves adding any cord. The reason for this style is that it saves any hassle sourcing polyester braid as if a nylon braid is used it will shrink slightly after a wetting, which upsets the rig (stitching). The needle is a Norwegian Formfinder Brand, near enough the same as the American Loomis needles.
