walshie 2,804
Mrs w just came in and said a rat was eating the birdfood that the birds had scattered out of the feeder. I said I doubted it was a rat, to which she drew her arms out wide and said it must be, it was "this big." This feeder is about 15 yards from the kitchen window, so to humour her, I opened the kitchen window, got my 410 out and said to call me if it came back. She called me within 2 minutes and I got my first chance to shoot something for a couple of weeks. I've been going round my own fields looking for foxes as we have lambs now, but no joy there. She was right. It was a rat, and a right fatty at that. Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
My 410 recently convinced two Jackie's it's a bad idea to fill my chimney with what ever they fancy filling a chimney with! Quote Link to post

Meece 1,958
RATS Faulty. !! Eating the nuts if you please.!!! We've had Roland out on our back lawn and measures have had to be implemented. I had a thread running about a week ago. I can't shoot them because of the angle down or backstop issues. I would but I can't. I've put two traps out and accounted for two Rolands and two mickies. They ain't really interested in the bacon rind and peanut butter but for some reason but they are out on the grass. I have no idea what they are eating on the lawn. Perhaps it's earthworms or insects of some sort. There is no bird feed or any sort of food thrown out on the lawn. I've been watching them on the cctv which gives really good images to see where they are coming from and how they operate. It's quite interesting to see their reaction when one of them gets whacked by a trap. They appear to be very clever and flighty. RATS Faulty. !! Eating the nuts if you please.!!!
