You love hard graft dude 👍.

I'm into the sixth year now Mel, and feeling it, hope to get these rides established over next couple of months and get the edges planted out with some guelder rose, dogwood, spindle and wayfaring tree etc

Bit of tree felling, dead hedging and grass/bracken strimming

You've been busy grafting again dude.

Strimming bracken is hard going at this time of year.  I'll be doing a bit of strimming next weekend,  and opening up a trail across the side of a steep hill , to make my shooting range easier to access.  I'll be doing a 100yrd path , but I'll be using a rotavaor . That really takes the sting out of it.

The bracken hasn't been too bad at all this year Mel, I hit it about five times last year, and that's knocked it back a good bit. Want to get the rest of this prep work done for the planting, had enough of the graft in here really it's been relentless

That sounds a canny job you've got to do Mel, be worth it once your done though

I've been clearing the bracken from a couple of spots at my place . I've been doing it about three times a year , for about five years . It seems to have pretty much stopped it now though .

I wanted to do more , but on the really steep parts , the juice just ain't worth the squeeze.

What will you be planting ?.

If you want , oak , Hazel,  Holly,  rowan . You're more than welcome to pop up and get as many saplings as you want .

I put in a few sweet chestnuts , but the farmers sheep got in and ate the lot. The fuckers did the same with the Tenby daffodils.

I've got a couple of three year old walnut saplings to go in , but I'll put cages around them.

I still want to get a few fruit trees in at some point as well.
