jukel123 9,756
Paul Parker has just joined Roy Keane , Paul Scholes, Paul Ince, Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney and others in rubbishing the present Man U team. Anybody with a brain can see they are playing poorly at the moment. What's the point of former players sticking the boot in the squad and the manager? I don't think there is a team anywhere which has bought so poorly in the last twenty years. There have been some truly bizarre signings including many players who Fergie had never even seen playing. I can't remember the last time we actually sold a player for a profit apart from big Lukaku who we broke even with. None of this really mattered when we were winning but the hyenas are now undermining the team with their perpetual sniping. The squad we have is not Ollie's fault and he is trying to bring in youngsters in the traditional Man U way. I don't remember former Liverpool players dissing the squad during their wilderness years. We need to have some thought out recruitment, be rid of the Glazers and get some loyalty and togetherness back in the Man U community.

Sad but true. Maybe I'm naive moaning about lack of loyalty. There's an element of the big ' I AM' about their criticism too. "I was so great these guys aren't a patch on me" which grates on me. There's some promising kids out there who need confidence, it's a shame there's no headlines to be made in positivity.

Lets have it right, these ain’t young kids....these are senior players at the biggest football club in the world (or one of) .........they ain’t 13 in the local boys club side. And as a player it is your right to say, this is what I won, what the f**k have you done ?.........some of the names you mention did achieve dreams at a club they obviously loved and they obviously believe in the players now at Unt enough to expect more. If they didn’t they just be saying “well, that’s as good as they can do” However I do take your point and like I said a chunk of it will be just to court controversy.......if it was QPR. nobody would give a shit !
jukel123 9,756
Fair points, I take them on the chin. I was thinking more of the teenage players like Greenwood and Williams. I always think with kids you need an arm round the shoulder and not a kick up the arse. The last three managers did not bother with the Academy kids at all. Ollie is giving them a chance and they look tremendous players to me. They both have an " I was born for this stage prescence" about them. I haven't heard any encouragement from former utd players directed towards them. I think that"s part of their role, to encourage youngsters. A word of praise is generally worth a dozen put downs to young lads.

I totally agree with the last part but it’s like an IT consultant telling a hod carrier how hard it is to climb the stairs. You have to remember that a lot of that golden generation were at Unt, staying in digs on their own from age 14 in a club managed by Ferguson who everybody knows was a hard nosed c**t. They broke into a team with the Robsons and Keans.......I doubt there was much arm round the shoulder stuff going on there. Of course they are going to have no sympathy for these modern generation of players. Its a case of “your at the biggest club in the world son and this is the expectation....don’t tell us your problems, get the f**k on with it”

THE STIFFMEISTER 17,506
Bollocks in the demise of Liverpool as a giant early 90s there were absolute savagings from former giants of the club I distinctly remember tommy smith and emlyn Hughes destroying the club Souness is a rangers man. For all his bluster about Liverpool , he cannot deny his feelings . When O’Neill held his ascendancy over the ibrox side souness made Roy Keane look like the epitome of tact and diplomacy on stv and sky. Its just united turn at the minute and to be fair you can’t blame them
