I dont know about Cantona,Le Tiss,Berbatov etc but being the same type of players i think they would probably be the same......but in his own words Teddy Sheringham simply didnt work hard enough to be a top player in todays game....he just didnt have the speed or the engine to hunt in packs, chase back in rigid formations and do the work off the ball that your Vardy/Lacazette types do today.

Teddy was a great player, but that's exactly my point... in 20 years the game has changed so much, that some of these players, who were the stars back then, would struggle to get a game!

I’ve said for years , there is a huge difference between being a great player and world class .

In the premier league at the minute there are probably a dozen world class players

Theres that fine line which sets the truly world class players apart, I think at the moment with City and Liverpool we have a few in the Prem who fall into that category....

I wouldnt say anyone at Chelsea (maybe Kante a few years back)...

Tottenham...Kane and maybe Son.

UTD... De Gea.....um...that's it.... oh and Pogba, when he plays for France!! Lol

Today’s game is faster than it’s ever been and the likes of Ronaldo and Ibrahimovich have raised the bar massively in terms of conditioning and how you can keep in 1st class shape well into your late 30s......and I agree that the ball moves quicker but I would also add that is because it can !

I would say rule changes have facilitated lightweight sprinters that wouldn’t have survived 6 games in the days the lads you mention were playing.

Sherringham, Bergkamp etc may have been “slower” in terms of pace but they were also getting hit with 6 tackles a game that would be red card offences now.......the game is faster now, but that is because it can be faster under the rules.

Here’s one for you, it’s the last minute in the champions league final and you get one last counter with the score 1-1........who would you rather was in the box, Teddy Sheeringham or Raheem Sterling ?

Personally i think its the stuff done when your side hasnt got the ball that would let those type of players down today look at the speed Vardy can get up to the ball to press compared to Sheringham/Le Tiss....and that seems so important today yet Sheringham/Le Tiss with a ball at their feet piss over Vardy hands down.....whether thats a good or a bad thing to see in the game i dont know.

For for me there are probably mane , salah, firminho, vvd, taa at Liverpool

Aguerro , kdb, sterling at city

probsbly Kane and Erickson at spurs

Kante on a rare good day .

I define world class as being able to be taken that day , out into any side in the world and improve it .

Yes granted but as we’ve mentioned here before that 1liverpool drill we all see time and time again .

If you i and newkid can see it , then every one else worth there cheese can as well get at pace it’s nigh on nightmare for defenders as it literally takes seconds to do .
