hi. just interested to hear how people stock break there terriers. got a young one at the moment that I will be showing to stock so wondered how others do it. more experience with gundogs than terriers

thanks

Get it out amongst them once it’s had its jabs like any other dog. Some terriers can be a pain in the ass if left to late.

Be kind and firm or harsh and hard.Terriers have a tendency to become terrierish and forget about their entering and education, some react to a raised voice and many to a twatting.

The one on the left had a good twatting as morton put after taking after a lamb at 5 months. I hated doing it but I remember thinking its for his own good. From that day on he was the most reliable dog I have ever had with stock and I would literally have bet my right arm on him under any circumstances. The one on the right I don't recall her ever doing any thing wrong just wasn't in her nature
