Rimfireboy! 1,463
All this sh1t makes me feel like banging my head against a wall with this fcuking country. What a load of bollocks! 3 Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Unfortunately choosing candidates based on shooting views isn't going to influence the election. There are approx 1 million firearms holders in the uk. Probably 99% are going to vote on other issues, the 1% that vote on shooting issues = 10,000 votes. Spread that across 650 MP's and that's on average 15 votes per MP. Not going to change anything most seats. Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
Has voting ever saved anything shooting sport wise once politicians lock on to us for any reason? It's a crock. 2 Quote Link to post

It's a crock. Both Dunblane and Peterlee shootings could have been avoided. If police had followed protocol properly at the time, neither Thomas Hamilton or Michael Atherton would have been allowed to hold a license. The police balls it up so the politicians put more restrictions on responsible shooters. 1 Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Sausage, I agree entirely. Look at knife crime. Solution, lets ban legitimate people from buying knives online or in single units, or carrying knives in toolboxes, fishing boxes etc. Effect on knife crime zero. Pretty much the same as the firearm restrictions. Every time there's an excuse they tighten controls yet it makes no difference to firearm crime because they're cracking down on the people who are legitimate owners not the crazies. Look at the hand gun ban, handgun crime increased for a decade afterwards and only went down due to better detection and policing, not the ban. Restrictions on legitimate ownership have had no effect on gun crime overall which has been rising. 1 minute ago, Rimfireboy! said: Both Dunblane and Peterlee shootings could have been avoided. Look at fireworks, banning many of them because of hooligans or foolish accidents involving illegal imports or people looking down mortar tubes when they don't go off immediately. Fireworks fault or idiot that should know better. I let you decide.... 3 Quote Link to post
