David.evans 5,323
So according to this chart if I zero at 50 yards (near zero) it will be bang on at 200 is this right and better than 1inch high at a 100 atb Quote Link to post
Sausagedog 7,381
My experience of these charts are that they are only guides. They don't take into consideration any subtle variation between barrel and action for instance. Just gotta shoot it Dave and suck up the cost! 1 Quote Link to post

Sausagedog 7,381
Nice day tomorrow for setting a rifle up. Just set it to a snip high at 100 and it'll go beyond 200 without much fuss......lazy.....gent. 3 Quote Link to post
Gav 1,708
I use those blacktargets that change flori yellow when hit, at distance you can see the holes, even mouse gun holes Ive only ever used ballastic calcs as a rough guide too, there are too many varients with ballastics to be precise. Spatter burst targets come with little stickers to cover your holes so can be reused, marvelous they are! I got them on amazon. Edited August 1, 2019 by Gav 2 Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Seems right according to the chart, but as said it's only a guideline. 2" for scope height seems quite high though. Zero it at 50, then when it's cock-on do it at 200 and you (hopefully) only have to walk 200yds back and forth once. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,491
Only a guide...NEVER rely on this type of generic chart. If you need to, and can, shoot at 200 yards, then zero at 200 yards and you will know for sure. Once you are happy with your 200 yard Zero then by all means use the gun at (for example) 50 yards, and note results, you should then be able to check very accurately your 200 yard Zero by shooting at 50 yards. Remember, any change of ammo (even another brand of the same weight) you will need to start again! 1 Quote Link to post
