Anyone work just two hounds?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone have any experience with keeping and working just two hounds?

I’ve been going out with a couple packs and I was wondering if it was even possible to kennel two hounds together as they are pack animals. It’s not something you ever hear about is it, a mini pack.

If so what sort of kennel size would I require? Any input is appreciated!

There is no problem keeping 2 hounds, mine have a pen 12 ft by 6 ft only problem with hounds is they can be on the noisey side so neighbors should be a consideration.also depends on ground your working if you're not going to be  tackling large forestry blocks 2 hounds will push them out of most places.

My hound's in all fairness are not too bad until they hear quad fire up and then the little pigs sound like there in full cry.

hound number depends on the ground your hunting if your just flush to the lurcher or gun the one couple will probably suit you ok

I personally like around 6 couple and if there are the right blend of hound markers searcher and the good old hound that never gives up then you will get results any where as for noise keep them well exercised well feed hunted hard you wont have much bother
