Jarvis 277
Another night, another outing again at the shoot. Not as overcast so was much lighter than Tuesday night so not ideal to park a silver hilux in the middle of a field, so I decided to get up on a bale stack the next field up from where I shot the three on Tuesday. Perfect 360 vision although one of the farm workers was on the field behind me with the scuffle on the back so not ideal but, just after 10:00 a 3/4 grown dog fox wasn’t perturbed by the noise and wondered across the freshly baled field in front of me looking for anything which had fallen victim to the combine. I must of watched him for a good 10-15 minutes as he got closer and closer to me. It was great to watch him acting so naturally and completely unaware he was being watched (almost like springwatch episode... NOT!) however unlike springwatch as he got within 150 meters I gave him a whistle, he froze instantly and the 55g Varmint X did it’s job. The joys of modern technology! 8 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
We all know the fox (any wildlife can get twitchy) but as I always say to clients, don't change your routine, just get on with what you normally do and we'll see what happens! Well done, they all count! 1 Quote Link to post

And then you mentioned “spring watch”and I thought of Packem and that bird that needs a good steak dinner , what’s her name ?? Oh yes Strachen . And that pissed me off !! 1 Quote Link to post
