You might want to invest in a collar yourself buddy can't always rely on others join a local club and take Peter up on his offer read and YouTube as much info as you can if I was you I would forget running them at this time of year grounds like iron there's young every were you would be just killing your own sport later on spend the summer bonding and training recall stock breaking etc get everything in place in the summer and come winter everything will be a lot more pleasurable just take your time short training sessions and if the dog becomes bored end it but always end on  a good note  watch Perdys progress or watch some of them gundog clips for ideas on walking to heel etc just remember it's not a race and it takes as long as it takes then enter in the field when your confident all the good manners are in place good luck buddy
