rotties

They can say what they like about big dogs or bull breeds i was asked to foster a yorkshire terrier yrs ago & it was the most evil , vilest creature on the plant, the b*****d thing continually trying to bite me & my feet

I had to live in Dr Martin boots for a month, it was crazy, stupid thing swinging of my jeans as i tried to kill it with a broom, it was so bad i had to ring the old woman & ask her to get it back, i was glad to see the back of the mental thing

i only read the headline about the rotties, so i dont know the full story.

why is it law makers fail to see there are ALWAYS the same factors involved in dog bites... regardless of breed?

they can ban every big bad dog(the ones they deem to be big and bad) and then suddenly they'll discover that labradors are bad dogs, or grey hounds are bad dogs, or whippets are bad dogs, or miniature poodles are bad dogs, ... they dont seem to notice that its the owners creating the badness... dogs arent born bad. just like kids arent born bad. they are created by ignorance, cruelty, or neglect... or all three in some cases. my cousins had a weimeraner that sent my aunt to the hospital when he bite her on the face because she got too close to a toy the dog was fond of. this dog also escaped and attacked a jogger, snapped at their kids, knocked them down. lives in a prong collar and stays crated most of the time..... but my "vicious" bulldogs roam my property, play with the kids,(though one dog hates strangers, men especially) but never had an incident with a mauling or biting incident with ANY dog i've owned.. and i have owned quite a few!

have to agree not all dogs are bad most of the time its the dogs that have been tormented. children should be supervised at all times with dogs till they understand that the dogs are not toys, weve had alsorts of dogs over the years rottis and mainly gsds that we got from the rescue centre to re socialise and then rehome for the gsd rescue not one of these turned out bad and most were rehomed apart from the older dogs that we kept our selves never a problem even them getting on with our own dogs. the worst i had was a cocker spaniel i got the old lady couldnt look after properly so took it on what an evil little bxxxxxd that was it would attack you even when feeding it.it was pts which was a shame

it same old story............................it not the dog it bloody iresponsible dickhead owners just read in paper that owners of dog and others new "it were a bad un" so why the f**k do they keep it knowing it goning to be arond young kids,it time these people were made ultimately responsible for what there dogs do,the case in st helens last year exactly the same,if they know the dog a bad un and it going come into contact we youngsters surely responsible thing to do his have dog put to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or wait for a police marksman to come along and shoot it after it has chewed some poor innocent child/baby up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Invariably it is most often the humans that are at fault rather than the dog. Never leave kids with dogs unsupervised. Tragically both dog and child have lost their life. How many times must we hear terrible news before people take notice.

We've two Rotties and the eldest is a bitch of nearly nine years and is absolutely 100% with children of all ages even joining in with a game of football were the kids although aiming for the ball were kicking lumps out of her  . About three years ago our daughter had her playing dentists with the bitch as the patient, laying on her back with our daughter trying to look down her throat with a magnifying glass

As for the male Rottie, we had someone calling with her children every week and she thought it was a really funny game for her son to wind the dog up :icon_eek::wallbash: , end result is a dog that will drag you in to our yard to give you the once over. About eight o' clock on Xmas Eve there was a face at our kitchen window, a friend of ours who calls once a year, now to get to the kitchen window, he'd come through two sets of gates into our yard where the Rottie and Lurcher (the pair in the video) are loose 24/7 :icon_eek: , he wasn't aware of this until we put the outside light on and saw them sat behind him   .

Now these dogs hadn't made a sound as the fella is 100%, not like the some of the twats who end up as "owners" of dogs :(

its my own opinion that even if your dog is 100% ... is that child 100% too? every dog has their limit..

i was playing with a friends rotti when i was a kid.. had a mink skin and was playing tug with it (yes stupid kid. thats no way to treat a mink!) the dog latched on and refused to let go... i refused to let go too.. so i pried her jaws apart and she opened her mouth wide - to get another grip on the mink - only she ended up clamping down on my hand!! oooooohhhhhh that was about the worst feeling i had ever experienced at that point in my life! my hand was black and blue for days .. though surprisingly she didnt break skin and let go immediately. she wanted the mink.. not me..

my mom and the dog's owner were in the house when it happened. i was outside by myself.. the dog was always chained up and never allowed to run free(no fence for it) i wasnt going to tell the adults what happened because i felt like an idiot.. but my friend(owners daughter) told them what happened.. especially after my hand started turning pretty shades of purple and blue.. i was the one that got in trouble. not the dog. and thats the way it should be(sometimes). i was old enough to know better than to play rough games with a chained up dog as large as that one was.
