New Camera.

Recommended Posts

If i get the Mrs a house dog i think it's only fair that I'm allowed a toy. I spotted this camera on YouTube and was blown away by the footage. This beast as 83X Optical Zoom, i think I'd use it more as a Telescope than a camera though.

My son has just bought himself a cannon eos 750d I think and that is a pretty serious bit of kit he uses his I phone as the remote and he can send the pics by phone as well, walked into curry,s signed on the dotted line and walked out the door with it, pays about £12 a month  for it I think and like he said he would never go out and spend £750 on a camera but at £3 a week it's no big shake

The Nikon is amazing, i don't think there's any binoculars or spotting scopes with that zoom?

That is some pretty impressive footage I must admit, most of my photo,s are relatively close in as in fishing trophy shots, footprints and dead animals, but sometimes when you see an unusual bird it would be nice to have that kind of zoom, I,m assuming you would need to mount it on a tripod or is that just an issue with digital zoom ??

You would definitely need a tripod if zooming in that far even using the optical zoom.

They are around £500 which is relatively cheap for a camera, I've heard they might be bringing a new one out soon with over 100x zoom so gonna hold fire until they announce something.

The new model has recently come out, it has 125x optical zoom which is insane.

The new model is around a grand, been thinking of buying one but heard the detail isn't amazing at those kind of lengths.

I would use it mostly at night for observing the moon and planets tbh so been thinking of getting a telescope. I should imagine the clarity on a telescope will be much better than a digital camera as you are basically looking at the object as it is with no processing involved.

I have got the one that zooms out 60x you do need a tripod to be able to get moon shots that aren't blurry , having used this sort of camera & a dslr I seriously think the image quality of even an entry level dslr is way better, it makes no difference to me now as a rarely take photos these days , but these zoom compact things are good to stick in your coat pocket on a dog walk

You would struggle to get that in your coat pocket as it weighs over 3lb. ?
