Apparently everybody goes Spartacus and sends nude pictures to be published. That way nobody can be embarrassed or blackmailed. f****n brilliant idea now wheres that whip and hood I'm going to publish the most horrifying,humiliating shot I can think of. My understating is they use cryptographic hashing which essentially applies an algorithm to the image to generate a unique ID for that image. The image is then blurred, the blurred image is stored as a future reference and the un-blurred image deleted. Then using that ID they compare that with the IDs of other explicit images on the net to determine instances of 'revenge porn'. Unfortunately it's apparently easy to get around by a very simple edit to the image which gives a different cryptographic ID but visually looks identical.
