Search for gearbox oil!

 

Needed some EP140 for the gearbox on our outboard. Phoned up the local farm machinery supplier, asked if they had any,, the receptionist could not get hold of the relevant department (her husband), asked if they could call me back, I knew it was a small company so said I would ring back, she asked if I knew where they were, I said yes, often go past your premises on my way to shoot rabbits, she said she wished that someone would should the rabbits in their back garden, I said your wish has been granted! I then explained I shot rabbits for sport, that I did not charge and that I lived close by. Called in and said hello, left my details and got a new permission.

 

Shame they did not sell the oil I wanted, but found some near another of my permissions. So always listen when on the phone!

I forgot to add, after discussing the rabbits she asked me if I also shot woodpigeons, so got me a roost shoot as well! Less than 2 miles from my front door!

Worked out nicely for you this time. Think I'd be a bit warier of telling strangers I shoot, especially if it wasn't relevant to the conversation I was having. Maybe that's just me though.
