king 12,015
Can anyone tell me what size barrel fitting for an 80k to fit a sling. I've looked about but there's so many different sizes in mm.im a bit baffled. And does it need a rubber insert to protect the barrel from scratches. Cheers king. Quote Link to post
walshie 2,804
Measure it with calipers. Failing that, have a look at this site. http://www.ant-supplies.uk/gun-sling-fittings/rifle-split-band-swivel-bases.html Quote Link to post

king 12,015
Right bought a bisley 16mm set of swivels. Can you recommend the best placement for both the barrel 1 and were to drill the hole for the screw part. Cheers king. Quote Link to post

Can you recommend the best placement for both the barrel 1 and were to drill the hole for the screw part. Cheers king. The best place for the barrel swivel is close to the stock end so that you have less chance of pulling the barrel and opening the breech while using the sling. You just need to make sure that you can still cock the rifle without the swivel interfering with the stock. I usually put the rear stud 2 - 3 inches in from the butt, depending on stock shape. ..... Mark with a pencil first and, have a good look at it to make sure it's central. Then make an indent with something like a nail. Then drill a pilot hole. When I drill the final hole, I make sure that the drill bit is slightly smaller than the sling stud. The picture below isn't a break barrel but, it should give some idea Quote Link to post

king 12,015
All done the leather sling seemed a little short so I made the hole a bit further up the stock Jon. I do like the modern nylon slings. But went with the old style leather 1 as the when the came out that was the type of sling get that was about. 1 Quote Link to post
