robthepitbull 3
Hi all, Please can any one tell me why Jill's would kill there kits, it's happened to me this year , I have 4 Jill's all pregnant, removed hob and left the Jill's together, had a quick look in Nest box and had about 8 kits , just had a peep today and all gone, haven't touched them at all. Had 3 Jill's all together last year and all was fine, just wondered if I've done something wrong Many thanks rob Quote Link to post
The one 8,398
Could of been anything mate a dog barking a loud noise near the hutch a first time jill might panics at least this early in the spring there going to come back into season again so you will get more kits Quote Link to post
rabbit demon 301
Try and remember if something changed from your set up last time when you had the kits and they survived. Noisier than usual. More potential or percieved predators around the cages or a change in diet. Hungry jills will eat kits. I think we have all lost a couple of kits at some point when we have done our best for them.. 1 Quote Link to post
ginger beard 4,652
probably because you left all the jill's together. 1 Quote Link to post

coneykenny 98
seperate next time, even though they might be well used to each other all year round, they can perceive other jills in the nest box as a threat while others will tolerate them 1 Quote Link to post
