Mushroom

Recommended Posts

Had a quick blast with these hunters this afternoon. Pissing it down so shot from the car port to the end of the garden, around 37 yards. Wondered what the hollow head would do when they hit a hard kinda squidgy target [One of the dogs old toys].

Seems they do mushroom some what... not as much as I thought they might. However, the do blow out to the width of a twenty two and lose there shape more. Perhaps shows the reason for the knock down, they end up looking like a small mangled bit of shrapnel.

Ive only used the trusty dome in the past and never seen any reason to stray, but though Id take a chance. Seems alright at the moment. Taking me some getting used to though the smaller calibre.

Hunters left, FTT's right.

There 4.50 but f**k me there tight in the breech. Cant believe there 4.50...

Well, you'll soon see ;)

To be honest, Im struggling to get used to the 177 after shooting 22 for soooo long. So bloody snappeh. They group well under 1/2, and I can see it only getting better. Need to get the trigger to my liking first port of call, its way off my 97 unit, but I think once thats a replica my 22, it'll be fine. What annoys me most, is the fact theres only 200 to a tin! Jesus. Ill go through 200 pellets in the garden in about 3 hours. So Ive bought 10 tins.

Ill get it on the pigeon this weekend I think... See how it does.

I must admit I think they are just hunters but thought I would check.

I just ordered a couple more tins of the Extreme in .25 and one in .22 to test in my Rapid FAC along with a test in my son in law's Ultra XL. I have to say I am very impressed with them so far.

I tried the standard Hunters in the HW100 which were very good indeed, now I think about it, still got half a tin so I will try them in the Cat. I should have ordered some .177 Extremes today as well.........bugger.

I have used half a tin on pellet group test and in the field on rats and feral pigeon. They run on the same zero as AA Fields so no issues and they group as well as the AA but p!ease be aware I have only done tests out to 25mts as the winds have been way to wild to do any distance work.

The kills are impressive to say the least. The best prices I found were from Uttings even with carriage cost they are cheaper than Voymir.

Get some,..........
