terryd 8,986
After saturday ferreting the dog had a couple of runs with no ill effects. I had a bit of energy in the tank the wind was blowing so I thought why not. No big trip just grabbed the dog and lamp and walked out the door to a couple of fields up the road. First was empty as expected but when got to the gateway I would expect maybe one there and sure enough. Nice rabbit well out sat there clear as day. Sent the dog off and as a rule he would have stalked up but after being out of action he went hell for leather. Spectacular run and I had forgotten how fast he is. The rabbit went through a flooded bit of field with the dog right hind water spraying up. Then turned and came my way.I made some sort of stupid noise that I do to distract the rabbit and turn it. But as usually it had absolutely no affect He ran straight over it snapping it up as he went. So into the next field and old charlie was sat in the hedge having a rest after being on the trampoline. Skirted by him then spotted another bunny out. This one gave him a good old run but he bagged that as well. Leg seemed sound and I could see a few more sat out but didn't want to push him so away home. He loves the rain 13 Quote Link to post
