It was minus 2 last night and I saw a rabbit laying dead just at the close of play it had the dreaded myxi I am thinking it could be the beging of the end or will the frost kill the fleas off ?

In my parts there was a population boom this year for rabbits.

As September grew closer, Mixy kicked in and now the sighting of a rabbit is rare again :cray:

I hope the cold weather helps the rabbits out, ( what`s left of them).

The One, I remember putting a rabbit, ( just shot, still warm) in my freezer one evening this last summer and the following morning taking it out again, to see the fleas it was carrying still moving :icon_eek: . Is that anything to go by I wonder?

I`d have thought inside a rabbit warren quite cosy for them as well as riding on a nice warm rabbit.

Horrible disease :censored:

I could be wrong but i thought a sustained period (5-10 days) of minus weather was needed to kill the adults off. Sadly any eggs in warrens and suchlike places will survive to hatch in spring or when it warms up. Don't think last year's mild winter helped mr bunny much.
