terryd 9,020
Just walked the dog this morning. Took the ferret and few nets. Picked a quiet spot where I new he wouldn't see any thing in the open so no turning. Made a bit of noise to get any potential foxes out the way. Soon as I let him off he started walking down the hedge row then he heard some thing going down the hedge and set off. Found him circling a bush. The old tail was going and you could tell it was close. I got a couple of stop nets out and started setting them around the bottom. I would like to say he sat there waiting but I could hear him batting the bush at the top. I couldn't go sort him out as the rabbit would have snuck across. It was taking me a while to get set so the dog started checking out some other bushes in case it had slipped out which left me in peace. Once the nets where down I went round the top gave the bush and good kick. Walked back around and bingo The dog was still looking for the rabbit so I called him over to show him. Twice this weekend I have beat him to the punch and its done him good to learn he doesn't need to pile into every rabbit lol We carried on a bit further Then as the ground got bit more tricky turned around and headed home. Don't want giving it too much welly yet 4 Quote Link to post
Tiercel 6,986
Bushing with a few short stop nets is brilliant sport. Never tire of it. TC Quote Link to post
