Drinking Little

Anyone else had ferrets that don't seem to drink much never can recall in the past when had ferrets they drank as little as the ones I'm keeping now they don't seem to touch the water bottle much at all

Very dependent on what you feed them. If I've run out of rabbit etc mine get dry and by god they drink then. But if they're on mostly rabbit they don't drink anything like as much.

good answer from Krawnden, just a thought though matey, have you checked the nozzle on the water bottle, could be bunged up

The nozzle Is fine and at the moment they are just getting cat food sachets also will try placing a bowl full of water and aee if they prefer drinking from that

cat food sachets aren't for ferrets matey, nowt but water, that's why they aren't drinking, they want meat n bone protein,

They will in the season that's all I can feeds using warmer months as don't hunt

That's fine matey, im not having a pop, but look, how much you paying for those cat sachets, and if you must feed them, then you want the kitten sachets, more protein in em I reckon, Tesco, they do trays of mince about £1 50. chicken wings, mine love em,

No need to feed cat food at all.

 

Get to pets at home, 2 x bags of their own brand dry food is 11 quid. They also do bags of minced raw meats (tripe, chicken, beef etc.) that aren't too bad either and because theybare quick frozen you can pour out however much you want.

Any of those cat / dog foods are 99% water so they won't be drinking much but at the same time there's not going to a lot of feeding value in them

So we came to the solution and Reason in the end thanks lads for solving it for me a change in diet for them is needed
