Always been up for fishing for trout havent a clue where theres any round my way (hertfordshire) or even if there is? What sort of methods are used and anyone know anywhere near my way wheres any good ?

If you just want to purely enjoy fishing for them, fly fishing with a dry fly on a summers evening is the way to go.

 

If your after one for the table then I'd go with a worm or small spinner.

 

If your after a decent one a live minnow works well

There's trout in every river in the land mate, but you are right, got a find them. If you know what you are looking for you'll spot a rise or boil, whereas if you don't you won't. Us purists use dry fly and nymph. Heathens use more agricultural methods like worms and maggots and bread and minnows and spinners and,and,and. I guess they catch more though lol. It's bloody good fun whatever. Jok.
