Micheala Robinson 400
Didn't even know ferrets could have blue eyes tbh. I can imagine they would be a nightmare to deal with even if they ever found a ferret that ticked all those boxes. "Two of my jills have blue eyes, my silver and a chocolate jills, though dark blue not the light blue that people are obsessed with at the moment, green eyed ferrets are another rave going on too, daft people breeding for designer colours and specific eye coloursWhen I bred my silver jill last year and she had kits of all sorts of colours, a daft person wanted a lot of specific things like this ad that is mentioned on the topic, and the daft sod turned out to be a time waster in the end, so it is a nightmare dealing with those types of people. It's very annoying with those types of time wasters Anyone who's bred ferrets for awhile will have seen that and thought, "Well, they're not being serious about having a ferret." Oh how interesting, would you be able to post a pic of them ? I can imagine, those that ask 100 questions and have 100 requirements usually are Sure I can ? here's a photo of them, they look like they have red eyes but that's just their pupils reflecting the camera flash.image.jpeg With Willow, her's are more like a purple though. image.jpeg Hopefully you can see the dark blue better with Whisper's eyes, the albino is Nancy, one of my best workers, if not the best one. image.jpeg And yes those types of time wasting people ask a million questions, mostly stupid ones like are both parents yours? And on the advent it'll say, "Both parents can be seen." But oh no, they'll still ask that dumb question of "Are they both yours?" Thanks for sharing, you learn something new everyday! The silver in the top picture is very pretty, I have a silver but she has allot of dark gaurd hair, she almost looks polecat colour ? 1 Quote Link to post

It's the same silver jill in both the top image and the last one, she just lost her silver last summer but seems to have not lost it this time ? She had a silver hob kit last year which looked like how she does now, he's called Gus and this was him as a kit. 1 Quote Link to post

Micheala Robinson 400
She's hard to photograph she's very energetic. The best ones either upload the wrong way up or won't upload as it says picture file too big. 1 Quote Link to post

I got her from a lady that breeds a good few of them, she never mentioned ferreting so assume she breeds them for pets but she lived on a small farm and she did feed them raw chicken and rabbit i believe, so at least she would have had a taste for it. I actually popped into the farm shop butchers on the way from work on Friday and saw some pork liver which i thought i'd buy her as a treat but she turned her nose up to it, i had to remove it from the hutch today as she hadn't touched it. Hoping that's not a sign that shes going to be too soft for the game! I take full responsibility though if she's useless i was far too eager buying one at the time i just wanted a silver gill ferret and never really gave rabbiting a thought, i just started thinking while she was running around the place that it would be nice to get her out and find a activity we could both do together. She's out of her hutch every day for a hour and has the run of the spot, so i'd say she's pretty fit too, we shall see. If she's no good maybe i'll take her to a show or two next summer 1 Quote Link to post

If she's no good maybe i'll take her to a show or two next summer wouldn't worry about her turning her nose up at liver . I would to if I was her lol...the softest tamest playful ferrets will still make good workers . I've had ferrets off pets and they have been cracking workers Also had ferrets off workers that were shite' it's all a gamble but all ferrets will work to some degree..my mate has a ferret that when you have to dig to him wile he's on a rabbit will let you stick your hand up the tube and pick him up in pitch black and won't take a hold of you as its that tame but will kill a rabbit in a stop end in seconds lol.. Get some bendy 4 inch tube and let her run through it. Get her used to running through dark tubes . Then when you have a locator and collar ( if you haven't already got one ) collar her up and let her run through a nice shallow hedge set . If you can try and get a fresh rabbit of someone.. Go to a local shoot and tell them your looking to buy acouple of fresh rabbits gutted but with fur still on . Feed her a whole rabbit in the hutch she'll soon get the scent of them .
