Well took the dogs for a stroll round a woodlands near me was having a great time untill i hear SPLASH!!! I thought to my self no way has the pup jumped in the concrete pit 12ft or so deep all round and no way out and half full of stinking green stagnent water ... anyway i always take a detour of this part of the woods but sods luck the dogs had just put something up and ended up over that way so i run through the fern and there he is my pup swimming around stuck no way out if i jumped in id be stuck myself so now im watching the dog treading water and basiaclly drowning.. Luckily i had pocket full of leads and started tying them together all the while hes getting tired now and heads gone under a few times... Then SPLASH!! My mates dog has slipped her lead and now shes in too FFS... So now two doomed dogs .. I started to try and hook his neck with the leads and got it round his neck and as gently as i could pull up up and at nearly 40kg he was screaming like a donkey only way to free him so managed to pull him out and not brake his neck ... Done the same for the other dog now there both free thank god and im just out the shower after being soaked head to toe with stagnent water went in my eyes my mouth the lot. Van stinks clothes stink but hey the dogs are ok lol thought i share that with yous as if i didnt bring all leads as i dont always because they walk to heel them dogs would of drowned ... Be aware of deep water ?

bloody lucky glad all ok. That should be covered

Depends if it's private land or not mate. I know a couple of lads who illegally enter a sand quarry from time to time and there are a couple of open slurry pits on there which would soon see dog or man in trouble (so they tell me) but they are open because it's private land.

2 kids very close to here drown in the thames 5 or 6 years back, the dog they went in to save got out unaided, those pits are different ballgames alltogether, theres a couple I know which often have a bloated fox or muntie floating in the green algea till they sink below the surface, the dogs were lucky.
