Is it just me or does there seem to be more Butterflies about this year........all different types as well.......from what im told this is their prime time and after August they will be thin on the ground ?.....but is there any reason my garden seems to be full of them compared to what i remember in previous years ?......beautiful looking creatures anyway.

Around me it's the opposite. Don't know why but very few . Even the old reliables like the Meadow Brown are rare.

I seen a hatch of Red Admirals the other day and that's been the high light of my butterfly year. Seems to be plenty of Moths about though.

Have you got buddleahs (spelling) growing or lots of nettles lol?

They like them.

Butterflies are attracted by male pheromones and apparently the more In touch you are with your feminine side the sweeter your pheromones smell to butterflies ... Elton John and dale winton have lots of butterflies in their garden ... Just saying ... Whistling .......
