tillylamp 1,982
just watched the Roland Garros french final, Andy Murray had a master class lesson from Novak Djokovic who one with ease 3 sets to 1, Murray one the first set 6/5 but Djokovic won the next three 6/1 6/2 6/4 Murray has to be the most depressing person when interviewed.....come win or lose..... .....if i was in his company for to long, i would end up slitting my wrists........ since Murray's been married....he keeps grunting after every shot he takes now........ ......dammed annoying like that Sharapova........ i wanted Djokovic to win......roll on Wimbledon...... johnny boy68 11,726
What did ya man Tiger Tim ever win? Murray is a top tennis player and played the best player on the planet at the moment. He's won a few slams too but as usual it's his personality that's in question......typical.

skycat 6,174
I pity any athlete these days: they have to perform well, and then they have to do the PR bit with a big smile on their faces and saying all the right things as soon as they've finished running, fighting, driving, whatever, and most times they're having to do a post mortem on the game/race/match before they've even got their breath back. It's no longer enough to win, they have to be all people-friendly as well, or suffer the trolling/comments/harsh judgement of their character.
bracken boy 584
Spot on skycat. Plus murrays not just good he's a terrific player who happens to meet the very best player in most events he plays in.
pesky1972 5,805
Murray's a top player who in any other era would have won a few more slams than he has. To put Sunday's defeat into perspective.., he lost to a man who will probably finish his career as the most succesful tennis player EVER.., but a guy who has only won one French open such is the level of competition. I don't think he enjoys the media side of things and comes across as droll. Quite a few folk have said he's different away from the courtside and actually a good laugh. IMO Murray is a credit to British sport, but I guess he's not everyone's cup of tea. Doubt he loses sleep over it mind.
gnasher16 31,739
I agree i cant see any point at all in post match interviews.......every player/fighter etc says the same things you know whats going to be said before they even say it......what sorry times we live in when they have to endure " media training " incase they say the wrong thing......do away with interviews altogether. bracken boy 584
Valentino rossi is such Laugh with his interviews even when he's lost a race, it's a shame a few others don't do the same,
