lanesra 4,007
I live on the Isle Of Man , we've been told we don't get a vote on the EU referendum . . Well if they vote to stay in (I pray not) we'd better not get 1 immigrant / migrant !!

Blackbriar 8,569
According to this....... http://www.britishinfluence.org/the_referendum_who_can_and_can_t_vote ......residents of the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands have a vote.........as well as people from India, Singapore and Zimbabwe, provided they are resident in the UK. In fact, people from 70 countries are entitled to vote in the referendum, including Irish citizens resident here !! WTF ?? I was going to write loads more, but I'll stop, as I'm just annoying myself !!

So you're not allowed vote, even though you live in a Crown Dependency a few miles offshore, but you would be allowed to vote if you came from Malta, the Seychelles or Pakistan ? How can that be right ? In what sense is that "democratic" ? Hang on ! Pakistan ! ......here come the chest pains again ! Edited May 28, 2016 by Blackbriar
walshie 2,804
My worry is how they are going to decide who to send vote cards to. How are they going to sort out the "genuine" people allowed to vote in this specifically from the others who get polling cards for all the other elections?
Blackbriar 8,569
Why are people from 70 countries allowed to vote ? "Should Britain leave the EU or remain ?" Will the options be "Leave", "Remain" and " Let's ask every immigrant we can find, however tenuous their claim to being British might be ?"......... FFS !!
walshie 2,804
And why do Commonwealth citizens get a vote in any case? This is about whether the UK remains in the EU or not, not the Commonwealth. Besides they are only Commonwealth countries because we conquered them years ago, so they should do as they are told.
