I have been using some 10g wads up in it and after missing everything I tested the pattern and yep as suspected a huge doughnut pattern!

I am burning the rest of them wads! Waste of shot and powder!!!!

Just to be sure I next loaded powder and pulled some green birch leaves for a wad, added shot and more birch leaves. Guess what, yep, it throws a smashing even pattern!

Missed two rabbits and a few woodies, stupid wads.:-(

That is some weapon.

Thanks for keeping your posts really interesting.

Do you have a back up for a mercy shot? Or is that what the other end is for?

best regards

Just a good knife and the dog. Although a bayonet may come in handy!

Well have to use in this shot guzzler about 1&1/2oz with just a few thin cards for a wad. Any other normal conventional wad blows patterns.

It's good with leaves and scrunched paper for wads too.

I don't shoot ball in this one at all.

Just wanted to add, nothing wrong with a blank night or making non dangerous school boy errors. We all do it. I remember the 1st time I went out with a pre-charged air rifle I'd bought, only I never considered the scope zero. In a barn I had some wood pigeons trapped and couldn't understand why from 10 feet, I kept missing them despite having them right in the cross hairs. As the pellets were so fast over such a short distance, I couldn't actually see where I was missing. Eventually the pigeons flew out of the hole in the tiles from which they'd gained access and it was only in the post analysis, that I realised that the scope was set for a much greater distance with the result that the pellets were flying miles over their heads! Doh!! What a basic error.

@ Charlie, air rifle prices are ridiculous now. Gone are the days when you could pick up an old air rifle for £10 in the local rag. I had a magpie problem and looked to try and pick up a 12ft lbs break barrel for around £25 to use in the garden. No chance. I could have quadrupled that easily for something 30 years old and probably totally clapped out! I gave up in the end as I couldn't justify spending hundreds to stop magpies from eating my fish food / attacking small fish.
