Back To The Rugby Club Last Night.

Recommended Posts

We went back up to the rugby club last night, in the wind and rain. Because of the way the wind was blowing, we struggled to get anywhere near half the warrens before before the rabbits ran off.

I decided to give the Polymag testing a rest so, I loaded up with my trusty JSB Heavies. These pellets are fantastic. My HW100 hits almost everything out to 75yrds at our club with these. Although I never take hunting shots at that range.

The 3 rabbits from last night were all shot at less than 35yrds.

The first one was a bit of a risky shot - the pellet had to through a chicken wire fence, then a few yards under low hanging trees. It worked. He took the pellet perfectly and rolled over.

The next one was sat up on the bank where the fox nicked my rabbit before. He had his back to me. As I walked up, he would occasionally lift his head. I managed to get well within 20yrds of this one.

I kept watching and, as he lifted his head, I put the shot in, over his right shoulder.

The last one was just sat out in the open by the main pitch. I think, because we changed how we did the circuit last night, we caught him out.

I peeped round a big shipping container and, there he was. Another nice clean shot.

I was happy with that for a couple of hours work. The Heavies did their job brilliantly - 3 down with no fuss. They also make a very satifying 'Whack' when they hit.

It was 2 big juveniles and an adult. One of the juveniles had a very spotty liver so, that went in the bushes for the foxes.

The other 2 will make a nice bank holiday lunch :)

Cheers :)

It was one of those nights where everything went right - I fired 3 shots and got 3 rabbits. Happy days.

The livers looked good on the other 2 last night. I'll check them again when I take them out of the fridge in a bit.

Also, they were all shot in different areas.

What you doing with that footage then? You got a channel?

I'm not that technical mate. I'm a bit of a div with modern technology.

I take pics of what I shoot because my little 'un likes to see.

I know I can record from the Nite Site but, I wouldn't know where to begin with suitable kit or, how to edit and upload the clips.

Nice shooting jonjon. 3 out of 3. Do you thing the polymags would have done as good a job pal.

Honestly, I think they might have last night. There was a fair bit of cross wind but, I was getting close for each shot.

The Polymags have been pretty good in tests (and 1 Pigeon) so far but, I have a lot of confidence in the JSB Heavies. I've been using them for nearly a year and they've never let me down.
