Early last week I was offered a cast iron Chiminea from a couple I know, the only catch being that in return I make them a sparrow terrace for their cottage.

This morning I delivered the goods and picked up the Chiminea, and received an added bonus of a nice sized trout.

Now to be honest I've never really cooked anything in my life so don't ask me why I decided to cook the trout in the Chiminea but hey who dares wins.I did my research on google and away we went.I cleaned the fish, filled with lemon and chives and rubbed in some salt and olive oil.post-31547-0-54092700-1462049295_thumb.jpg

I then wrapped it in 5 sheets of newspaper and tied it up with a bit of string and then soaked it in some clean water for 3 or 4 minutes.

With the coals nice and hot I placed the parcel on the rack and prepared the mushrooms, onions and black pudding. After 20 - 25 minutes I turned the fish, and cooked the other side.5 minutes before it was completed I heated up some oil and cooked the other bits.post-31547-0-38196700-1462049744_thumb.jpg

At this point I realised I was missing something so nipped down the road and got a portion of egg fried rice..I removed the parcel and opened it up to find it had cooked beautifully, so it was served on a bed of Chinky rice with black pudding mushrooms and onion. Not bad at all.
