Rabid 1,936 Posted March 26, 2016 Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 I had a tray of twenty eggs in the incubator, they were due to hatch late tomorrow, 2pm this afternoon the Mrs arrived home to find 3 fluffy chicks running around the bottom looking like they had been hatched a few hours, no detrimental effects as yet, but that's the earliest I ever had them hatch. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

burnie69 376 Posted March 26, 2016 Report Share Posted March 26, 2016 You'll find your incubator is running at a little higher temp then it should be 37.6 or 37.7 and they'll hatch earlier. Same as if it's running under 37.5 they'll hatch a day or 2 late. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Not massively impressed on the first hatch if I am honest, the hatching was spread out well over 29 hrs minimum, I lost a lot of perfectly formed chicks, the last 7 to hatch only 1 survived. I need to tweak and fine tune the settings slightly, out of 20 fertile eggs, 11 chicks ain't no where near good enough. This weeks hatch was purely just rabble eggs, nothing too fancy went in, but I have some expensive and sought after eggs to hatch soon, so I want this machine on song.
