Lamping

Recommended Posts

We were out on Saturday ferreting round newly seeded rugby and football pitches at work and got 31 but they where mostly small rabbits , so we said we would lamp it and get a true idea of what was doing the damage we lamped a bit and hardly saw a rabbit then we got the first one and we went up to the pitches on one side of a strip of laurels we saw 14 rabbits in with the horses and on the other side on the pitches there was twelve and they all ran into the thick cover we couldn't get under to ferret . So we carried on lamping and although my son shoot a few we ended with only 13 picked up and they where all big rabbits the only time I saw a small rabbit was when I went to pick up a rabbit that fell over a banking I scattered a litter of three four week old youngsters
