fat man 4,741
Had a little hatch hen missing this last couple of weeks and had thought that the fox had got her.Today i decided to empty a few ash bins and other stuff that had gathered up in the last few weeks.I went to get the tractor and when i opened the door of the cab the hen nearly took the head of me flying out and on the seat were 17 eggs.I managed to catch her up and put her and the eggs in a small shed that is not used.I checked after about an hour and she was happy sitting on her eggs again, had 1 last year that hatched out chicks in the oven of an old stofe that i had taken out but not got rid off,no bedding of any sort but hatched out 11 chicks.
low plains drifter 11,305
I was tidying a garden one time, and round the back of an old shed there was a big plastic bucket half full of eggs that one of the hens must have been using instead of the nest boxes, also there is a lad at work who is said to go where hens won't lol
