At Last They Are Laying.

That's been a long few months. Layers and mixed corn do not come cheap so the odd half dozen has been a little off putting. However. Last few days 7/8 and this morning 13. The girls look very good and at last seem happy. 18 turned out to be 17 with the pure bred Cream Legbar cockerel which to be fair I quite like. Happy days.

I bought six 12 week old barnevelders last year,2 blue ,4 normal,they started laying around Crimbo time ,every day get 3 plus eggs ,pulled 6 eggs out this morning ,4 yesterday.over run with eggs lol

Really lovely yolks as well,they only get cheap,layers pellets with bit corn an grit in afternoon,and couple times a week the waste raw veg,they have cauliflower leaves today .

ours are just starting to pick up i think ! the young pullets started early but one of them went broody ,some of them are starting to get on a bit now ,wer are hoping to rear some replacements for the egg birds this year so hopefully get a few more early on next year ,just manged with eggs only bought 1/2 a dozen this winter but what a difference in taste :cray:

Rabid. You jammy git. Fair play you must be doing something different to me then. The only thing mine don't have is piped music. Not really complaining. I love the things.

put one of those heat bulbs in there coup and extend there daylight a bit and they should keep laying all winter,
