Kennel / Run Panels

Recommended Posts

gents, I am looking for recommendations for a supplier or manufacturer of galvanised kennel / run panels.

ive seen a few online in various places and loads on ebay but from experience i know that what looks to be the same product at roughly the same price can vary wildly in quality when the item arrives.

i am looking for one normal and one door panel to make a small run off the back door of the house between the back wall and the outbuildings, and probably looking at either a 1.5 & a 2m panel or 2 x 2m panels (with one having a door). are there any suppliers worth using, or more to the point any that are definitely worth avoiding?

also, i have noticed most people seem to stock them in 5cm and 8cm spacings. other than the obvious smaller gap and extra steel is there a practical difference between them - ive got a springer, a lab and a lurcher at present (not got any plans for a small dog - jrt or simiar size in the future if that plays any part in choosing panel spacings but if i did end up with something small or another puppy further down the line i would look at adding some weld mesh or similar to the outside if it looked as though heads may get stuck.)

so folks, any recommendations on size and supplier gratefully received!

(also - is a 6ft panel likely to keep a rather bouncy lurcher in or should i also look at sticking a bit of a roof on there!)

When I built my runs before I was on a tight budget.so had some of these from a mate.

I done 2 courses of block work.and sat these on top.

And for the gates of the run I concreted a 8" length of white sink waste pipe into the slab.stood 1 of these panels on end and chopped the end off leaving 1 side of the panel frame to slot into the pipe.it worked out great.really strong and the galvanised panels were free.http://www.bloknmesh.com/product/pedestrian-barriers/hawk-barrier/

Another vote for doghealth panels at Norwich good price and decent quality panels prompt reliable delivery

Thing too bear in mind is they built too keep dogs in not too keep thieves out so additional security is needed imho
