the goat 642
Been very laxadaisy over the years on getting my shotgun cert. Then a 12 month ago had an incident and ended up getting done for common assault and criminal damage. Even though the 2nd offence was bollocks I still got done for it. Just wondering should I even waste my time trying for a shotgun cert or are the both crimes so little I may have a chance? Any help appreciated
Blackbriar 8,569
I'm sure there a re many SGC holders with a "chequered past", but I think your difficulty, if you have one, will be that the offence was so recent.
johonawhitness 110
2years of clean record is what most feo advise before applying. some may even say 5years
smithie 2,444
it won't cost to find out. you get your money back if you don't qualify for a licence
walshie 2,804
it won't cost to find out. you get your money back if you don't qualify for a licence Don't forget it you DO get refused a SGC, you will have to put the fact you've been refused down on any application that asks in the future. If you've been done for assault in the last year, I'd forget about applying. I don't think you'd have a chance in hell.
Onlyworkmatters 1,584
Give it at least 2 years before applying, join a club where you can shoot without a license, some clay pigeon clubs have exemptions that will allow you to shoot without a license, it will go a long way when you do apply

johonawhitness 110
payment is refuned in full into a bank account via a form the feo will produce if you are turned down. i know this as my mate was refused and got the refund i have seen the document. well he was actualy talked into signing a withdrawal of application by feo which looks better than a complete refusal by chief officer when re applying in 2 years
