Zimpara 99
I got these groups from 8 shots. Any ideas? All PoA centre. Baffled to say the least. PS it was a bit breezy but nothing serious. Edited November 18, 2015 by Zimpara Quote Link to post

VWman 232
Well the dog is still laughing, is she laughing at the group or at me because I can't see the group. 1 Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
Tight Fit? They were a really odd group. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Thinking about it, you are taking 2 shots then checking the group. Every time you put your eye back to the scope it is in a slightly different position. Hence your groups move, Your scope is not set up properly! Quote Link to post
Zimpara 99
I'd probably agree and say my scope isn't set up correctly. Fortunately I was reading about hft last night and how to set it up. Cheers Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,836
Before you start messing with your scopes try it off a bench rest and see how the groups are then. The more steady your rifle is the tighter your groups will be And you will find if you set your rifle up rested you will get better groups when standing i all ways set mine up off a rest or off the pod if its a pcp the point of impact is all ways the same if you miss its you not the rifle . atvbmac  1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
That is odd, I had a similar thing a while back, and the scope was shagged, if it does not tighten up doing as the lads have suggested, you might want to try a proven scope, just to be sure. 1 Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I think the OP is shooting free standing, taking 2 shots then putting the gun down, checking the target, putting the gun back to his shoulder and shooting two more pellets. If you do not have your scope set up properly the position you put your head back to the stock will change the view. Anybody who has seen Adi at A&M check grouping on a gun will have seen him doing what appears to be an impression of a demented woodpecker as he looks through a scope, he is moving his head to see if the indicated point of impact through a scope changes. 1 Quote Link to post
